Our client is seeking a Signs Site Operative to join their already successful motor trade team in Bedford. You need to be a team player, able to work to deadlines and have the ability to use your own initiative.

Site Operative Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for the overall tidiness and safe storage of all traffic management signage and equipment on the site
·         Day to day site based operation to check, identify, select, pre-load, load and unload all traffic management signage and equipment used by the business
·         Making use of the reach fork lift truck on site to load and unload vehicles and to move and transfer signs and equipment from location to location on the site when required
·         Receiving ‘picking lists’ by e-mail from the Signs event co-ordinator for events that require the supply of equipment from the site
·         Receiving signage and equipment at the conclusion of events and checking all dispatched have been returned and are in good order and compiling loss/damage reports
·         Act as a ‘single point of contact’ at the site for all internal Signs site enquiries by telephone or e-mail
·         Clean, maintain and repair signage and equipment, to keep and maintain accurate records as directed
·         Conduct stock takes when required and prepare associated reports
·         Continually review and refine site procedures on the basis of experience and to maximise efficiency
·         Ensure that safe systems of work are implemented at all times
·         Make, laminate, breakdown and repair signs as required, including their fitment or removal from metal stands
·         When viable to assist with other site based work at Bedford linked to its use as a delivery/storage site for ‘local’ signs officers

The ideal Site Operative:

·         Self-motivated, self-reliant and hard working
·         Physically fit and capable of handling heavy loads on a day to day basis
·         Good flexibility, problem solving skills and experience in this context
·         Able to be flexible around work hours
·         Good time management and prioritisation skills
·         Accurate and methodical
·         Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels
·         Basic PC Skills in Word/Outlook and Excel spreadsheets
·         An approved and experienced forklift truck driver who has experience of working with the machine in a warehouse environment
